The Searcher is so far my favorite book we have read this year and is actually a very interesting book. Although it is not like the typical crime or mystery that is one of the topics I actually enjoy. It is particularly interesting because the main character does not actually even know what is happening for a while and it is an interesting viewpoint. One thing I found odd was how the sheep were killed and was wondering about what the connection was.

One thing that I noticed while reading is that the book is kind of slow-paced. Even though it is kind of slow it is not too slow to continue reading. Also, the characters were introduced as the book went on instead of in one moment which I feel improved the book. So far I think The Searcher is a good novel and I am excited to see where it goes.

I am having a good time at school recently. This year every class has pretty much been what I am used to except for math. Also as this month comes to a close it is almost time to start cutting grass again. This past year I have cut a lot of grass and as the winter months came grass stops growing. This is something I am looking forward to because it is a great way to make some money that I can spend on whatever I want.

Also, school is flying by at this point and Junior year is more than halfway over. I always thought that high school would take forever and I would be very bored with it, however at this moment I am more than halfway done. In general, I am very glad that this time of year is coming around because it brings many things that are exciting such as summer almost being here.

The Saints played the Bucs in what many thought would be a good game. Most Saints fans thought that the Saints had a great shot to win considering they had beaten the Bucs 38-3 just a month ago. The game started off good and the Saints got a field goal so they were up 3-0. Soon after things took a turn for the worst when Jared Cook fumbled the football and Drew Brees proceeded to throw 3 interceptions. This was very hard to watch considering I have looked up to Brees for most of my life. I remember being really little sitting on the couch with my family watching Brees win the Saints their first Superbowl in 2010. The Saints ended up losing the game 30-20.

Drew Brees likely played his final game in the NFL. Watching him go out like this was saddening considering he is one of the best if not the best quarterbacks to ever pick up a football. He is the NFL’s all-time leading passer, has thrown the most touchdown passes in NFL history, and holds the record for most completions in the NFL. Right after the game, however, his wife revealed he had been dealing with more injuries than many thought. This could possibly mean that he wants to return for one more year and have another shot at going to the Superbowl. Even if he doesn’t come back to the NFL I will always cherish the memories of watching Brees play football.

I recently started watching the Mandalorian and It is a really good show. As of right now it only consists of two seasons with 8 episodes per season. It follows the story of a bounty hunter and I think that is really cool because it is less focused on the Jedi storyline. The episodes are very well made and the cinematography is very good.

Another aspect of this show I really enjoy is how it adds to the Star Wars storyline by showing Luke Skywalker at the very end. The main character is also really well done even though you barely even get to see his face. He faces lots of adversity and goes through many adventures to get to his main goal and I really enjoyed that. I also thought that the ending of season two was very good and I am very excited for when season three comes out.

This week has been a rough week because of all of the school work we have been having. I am very ready to have a break and thankfully we have a break coming up. One thing that I have been thinking about a lot lately is math class. This class has been taking a lot of my time and is something that I definitely do not look forward to. I think the way that it is structured on MyMathLab is kind of messed up and should be changed.

We recently had our first test of this quarter and I feel that it just keeps getting harder and is not even math at this point. The only thing getting me to continue working through all my classes is the upcoming Mardi Gras Break. I look forward to getting to go skiing in Montana. This trip has been planned for a while and I am very excited since I have not been anywhere since Corona took over. Also, this is a good thing because it is a very safe trip in relation to Corona because of all of the precautions.

During this video, I definitely learned more about the book. I learned more specifically where the Catholics were and where the Protestants were. The video also talked about how different the lives of each religion were and I couldn’t help but think how wrong it was for trying to cause division and separating the two religions. Something I thought was especially terrible was that kids could not even play the same sports at school. There was a connection to “Say Nothing” when the video was talking about how Catholics had a higher birth rate but were still the minority religion.

That reminded me of how Arthur and his wife were of different religions and he got treated badly because he was simply married to a Catholic and he was Protestant. They also had many children so that made me think about what religion did the children follow? Another point that was talked about in the video was how talking to each other could have lessoned the conflict instead of just fighting about it. I feel like this was a terrible situation that did not really have to happen. I also don’t understand why there is such a big problem between the religions.

2021 has been off to a rough start but this weekend was jammed packed full of sports. Sports are one thing that many people enjoy and this weekend started off with the NFL. On Saturday the playoffs started and the Colts played the Bills, the Rams played the Seahawks, and Washington played the Bucs. I really rooted for the Bucs to win so they can play the Saints in the divisional round of the Playoffs. This is likely Drew Brees last year in the NFL and it would epic to cap off the best quarterback ever to play the game of football career winning the super bowl. Today the Bears take on the Saints, the Titans play the Ravens, and the Steelers play the Browns.

Even though the NFL playoffs are in full swing, College Football is coming to an end and on Monday Ohio State plays Alabama in the College Football National Championship. I really want Ohio State to show up and be ready to play because Alabama has won so many times and they also happen to be my least favorite team. Also in College, LSU’s basketball team is in full swing and I am really excited to see how far they can go down the stretch. So far they have been decent but this team has a lot of potential and I have high hopes. Overall sports are a great escape from everything going on so I am excited to see what happens and who wins these games.

2021 has officially started and I think that it is safe to say everyone is excited for it to be a new year. 2020 is going to go down in the history books as one of the worst years ever. 2020 started off with the Australian bush fires and then progressed on to the Covid-19 pandemic. After many thought it could not get worse, Kobe Bryant died. He was a star all around the world and was a role model for many people. Then to top it all off protest began around the nation and even our president was put up for impeachment. Finally, the year was coming to a close and many hoped that 2021 would start off on the right foot. Not even five days after the new year the Capital in DC was stormed.

This led to a media outcry and it was all over the news with many different spins and titles. Hopefully, as the new year goes on Covid-19 goes away and things can return back to normal. But in many parts of the nation, the cases are rising and many places are moving back to phase-1 and schools are closing down. Even some local schools have shut down and our school is next on the list. With that reminder of how bad things have been hopefully things can get better and we can focus on the good things going on around the world. With all of this being said I hope everyone has a Happy New Year!!
